Link Of The Day:Everything Loud And Clear - a Yamato Ishida fanlisting
On awards, imaginary friends and Edwin Starr.

Still haven't decided on that movie trailer.
I had a Chris Rock fix last night. I LOVED Osmosis Jones - okay, so it's a kiddies' film. It's still funny. "Son of a botulism!" Heheheh. Well, Rush Hour was on, so I watched it.
Not exactly the funniest film of all time, but it has its moments. Like that part where Lee is singing along to 'War' and Carter shows him how it's REALLY done. I loved that. Ditto the very end. Double-ditto the outtakes. LMAO.
Then I watched the VMAs. Well, more correctly, I watched Beyonce's performance, thought 'what a load of shite', and turned it off again. 'Crazy in love' won an award for best R&B video? What a load of crap! The only award that video should win is for 'Most porn-like'. Ditto 'Rock Your Body'. Oh, look, it's a man dancing in a box of flashy lights! Let's give it an award!
Coldplay's 'The Scientist' I can understand. Now THAT is a fantastic video. And no, I'm not being biased because I like Coldplay and I don't like Beyonce or JT (although I don't). I hate Coldplay too. But the video is brilliant.
So what videos should get an award? Hmmm...Nickelback's 'Someday'. Tenacious D's 'Tribute'. Both good videos. Well, the Nickelback one maybe not so, but it's a damn sight better than the other stuff that won an award.
I just spent a week at my grandmother's house. It was one of the most boring weeks I've spent in my life. I did a load of drawings, though, and I got a plan done for a new site (I know, I know. Yet another one). This is more just for me to keep everything in order than for visitors, although anyone is welcome to visit it. It's just a collection of junk about Yashi and co. RNK (this will make sense to Raiun, if no-one else) and the clones will get a look in there somewhere too.
Well, must fly, I've lost all feeling in my fingers...

Link Of The Day:Bloody hell. I expected just the bare (*cough*) facts.
On films, sountracks, and casting.

The Friday Five. On a Monday, naturally.

1. If your life were a movie, what would the title be?
Ooh, that's tough...'Majorly Minor' would be one idea, since I use the word 'majorly' so much. Someone (I forget who) once recommended either 'Friendships and Fruitbats' or 'Fruitcakes and Friendships', although I have no idea WHY.
2. What songs would be on the soundtrack?
Hmm, another tough one. Madness - 'Lovestruck', Staind - 'It's been awhile', Savage Garden - 'Affirmation', Steps, 'Happy-Go-Lucky' (don't make any comments about my taste in music, I assure you it's not my CD, okay?), P.O.D. - 'Youth of the Nation', Phatfish - 'I will wait for you', The Tribe - 'Hypocrite', The Bangles - 'Manic Monday', Amy Studt - 'Misfit' (I ADORE that song! -pictures tying up the Popular Squad and torturing them with fuschia lipstick and poodle-perms-), and finally, for background incidental music, Onde Corte by Ludivico Einaudi (hey, my parents are classical music fans. So sue me.)
3. Would it be a live-action film or animated? Why?
Animated. Japanese anime, naturally. Preferably by the guys who did Neon Genesis Evangelion. They should get Yukirin (do a search on BoyIs.com to see Yukirin's work... it's just outstanding) to do the promo pics and the posters. Maybe they could do the art for the credits, too. Why? Because I want to see how I'd look as an anime character. Also, because it would look closer to me than an actress would. And finally, because I just love anime.
4. Casting: who would play you, members of your family, friends, etc?
Okay, they'd have to adjust my life slightly and have me conversing with Raiun in real life, and have him voiced by Michael Reisz, who has one of the sexiest voices ever known to man. Me? Hmmm. Don't know. Lozzy would probably be Amanda Tapping, just to keep her happy. My Dad? Richard Dean Anderson. My brother I'm not sure about, probably Adam Sandler or someone. Mum? I don't know. The rest of my friends are a bit 'Hmmm' as well. I can't think of anyone suitable for Dave-san, there are no good female voiceartists I know of... oh, they'd have to get Richard Epcar, who voiced Myotismon in 'Digimon', in there too. SEXY VOICE! YES! Go here for a voice sample. Okay, so what he's saying is shit. He sounds heavenly. And yeah, I used to watch Digimon. Hey, I'm a yaoi fan...
5. Describe the movie preview/trailer.
Oooooh, tough. I'll have to get back to you on that one.

Link Of The Day:Somnambulist
On plugs, jewellery, and holidays.

MAJORLY plugging myself right now... see that link up top? 'Tis my new story. I'm aiming for a chapter a week, but it's difficult...and there's too much dialogue in the prologue... but still. I'm only really writing this story because I love the ending of it. I just have to *get* there...***insert 'Oh, puh-lease' face here***
I'm also plugging Keri's work. 'Security Blanket' and 'You Swore' are just like... whoa. -picks her jaw up off the floor-.
I got back from Gloucestershite on Saturday night. It was crap, but I got a cool ring. My friend Chrissie bought me a gorgeous bracelet from America a few years ago, it's got tiny stars in paua shell, green and blue and pink. It's beautiful. On holiday, I saw a ring to match, a lovely dark greeny-blue butterfly. I've worn them all week, I now have a butterfly imprint on my finger. Lol.
I love jewellery. I have tons of it, but I often forget to wear it. I have something for every outfit - be it the star bracelet and butterfly ring, a plain silver cross and studs, or a black onyz pendant - but I still buy more. I'm a total freak for trinkets and things like that. I hoard stuff like a squirrel. Honestly, you should see my bedside table. Alarm clocks, make-up brushes, nail varnishes, perfume bottles (which shouldn't really be kept out in the sun, but oh well), earrings, sculptures made out of dead batteries and matchsticks... you name it, it's on there. Padlocks, candles, and much, much more, all vying for space on an area of about 1 square foot.
Holiday was, as you'd expect, crap. We went canoeing down the River Wye, which was cool, but my brother (who was sitting behind me) finds it a physical impossibility to keep in time, and my father wouldn't row. So it was left to me. -seethes quietly-
What other interesting things happened? Um, pelted my cousin with cooking apples... ate plums...fell out of a tree while climbing it (in a skirt!). Thankfully, my little cousin broke my fall. It wasn't actually climbing the tree I had the trouble with, thankfully my long arms and legs are great at things like that, but when I climbed back down again I missed my footing and fell over backwards. Francesca complained I'd broken her shoulder, but at least it took her mind off her nettle stings. And I didn't so much as bruise. Heheheheh.
Gotta go, write more stuff...

Link Of The Day:The Dad Chronicles...I found this somewhere, I don't know...
On holidays, fingernails and keys.

Okay guys, I'm going on holiday tonight, so I won't be back for another week or so - not that I post much anyway, but still.
That's where today's link came from, incidentally - I was thinking about how I rarely post, so you shouldn't really notice my absence, and that made me think of a comment on that site when the guy (I forget his name) went to his grandmother's funeral or something...I don't know. Just read. It's a little weird, but quite interesting.
I hope it's still going when his kid reaches its teens.
I painted my fingernails last night, a rather groovy metallic purple. I'll stick a picture in here at some point, probably when I get back from Gloucestershite *pulls a face* *Yes, that spelling mistake WAS intentional...* and am allowed on the computer again. Seriously, I'm typing this up on the library's gummy keyboards because I'm not allowed on the family computer - i.e. the one the camera plugs into. Grrrr. Well, plus school finished early and I don't have a set of keys, so I'm kinda stuck here for a while...
That really bugs me, that I don't have a set of keys. My Mum says it's because I'll lose them. HELLO?! My father locked us out when my Mu mwas up in London for the day, with no money. I had to go to drama rehearsals in my uniform (NOT comfortable) and we only barely had enough for dinner. Now if THAT's not irresponsible, I don't know what is.
God, my hands feel so dry for some reason. I think it's because it's absolutely pouring it down with rain, so my hands got wet, and they've just dried out again. I may have to go to the local chemist and buy moisturiser on the way home.
The computer just flashed a nasty warning at me saying that I should save my work on a floppy disk and prepare for logout. God, it's like a bloody rocket launch.
I can't see the clock from here, so I could have 10 minutes left on here or 45 seconds. I'm not taking any chances. See you in a week, guys.

Link Of The Day:Naked Quidditch Match... wanna know how long Harry Potter's unmentionable is?
On departures, smilies and technology teachers

I am severely hacked off. My parents dropped a bombshell on me a couple of weeks ago, but it's only just sunk in (well, my friends have only just started going 'Oh, no!') I'm moving. Permanently. To Bournemouth. I mean, BOURNEMOUTH?! That's, like, the other side of the country! And it means I have to change schools and leave behind Dave and Pim and L-chan and Rachy and Stinky and... I don't wanna go! I mean, it's obvious, but... I'm giving up a great school, one of the best in the country, for a crap comprehensive. That sucks. Oh, yeah, as you can see, I got the smilies done. Want to see? Mouseover if you can't tell what they are. HappySadIndifferentAngryShocked*Gulp!*Nyah nyah!Heheheheh.
God, I hate my Technology teacher. I mean, I'm an emotional girl at the best of times (I was created without a shut-off valve), but he REALLY bugs me. Like today. I forgot my tech folder (which I have done every term for the last 3 years, but no-ones complaiend yet.) So, why, today, did he send me to phone my parents and ask them to bring it in? I did tell him that there was no-one at home. His reply? "Leave a message on the answering machine!" Quite aside from the fact we have a new phone and can't work out how to use the answering machine yet...who's parents are going to drive all the way up to the school to hand in one lousy piece of work? It's not even important coursework, for the love of all things holy!
The woman in the office thinks he's an arsehole too now. Lol.
Read the fic mentioned above! Read it! Snape makes a GREAT comment near the end about wanting to have something *other* than the upcoming Quidditch game in hand... *nudge nudge wink wink*
I had something important to say about slash here, but I can't remember what it was. Darnation. I'll leave it there then until I can think of something else to say.

On layouts, hosting and procrastination.

Excuse me if the limages are a little broken, folks, Boomspeed.com is playing up.
Yeah, another layout. The fourth one's already in the pipeline, folks. Say what you will about me, I'm always active!
You know, I should really get around to creating those smilies. I'm a terrible procrastinator. Well, no, that's not true. I'm a great procrastinator. I could procrastinate for England. I'm just terrible and knowing when I should stop and get on with stuff.
I may add some content to this site, I'm not sure. That would be quite wicked. But I don't know what to put on. -sigh-
Anyone visited Dizzied.com recently? More correctly, have you seen her new personal site? The layout is just, like...whoa. Pinkness. And more pink. And Christina Aguilera. Wearing pink!
I got a little peed off with Kelly, as you'll remember from an earlier entry, for spending too long on hiatus. She's given a temporary reprieve, on the grounds of being very pretty as well as making a killer (pink!) layout.
You know, I may do a pink layout next. It was originally purple, but I'll probably change it.
I'm gonna apply for hosting. Unfortunately, that means I'm gonna have to learn FTP, and it won't be as easy to update this... oh, wait, I can create a frames layout! Then I don't have to worry with Greymatter or anything. Perfect. :)
Still gonna have to learn FTP though. Oh well.
I was talking to Dave earlier, and she said "If you run out of things to say, talk about me and Ruth falling out." Well, I can't really think of much to say about that, and my fingers are cramping. :P
Oh, yeah, I started work on a new fic. It's based on a quote from Niffler (Visit her blog! Clickc on 'Flutterby' in the sidebar!) in Maths class, when we started adding the word 'maybe' onto the beginning of every sentence: "Argh! We live in the conditional tense! We never do anything, we just talk about it!" Heheheh. I thought that was kinda funny.
Uh-oh, gotta go, dinner's on the table... hope you like the new layout, folks! Another post tomorrow morning, with everything I wanted to talk about today but ran out of time to talk about.

Guys, I've been virus-ed. DO NOT, under any circumstances, visit www.pur-ity.net/bruna - that's where I believe I picked the virus up from, as I didn't have any other webpages open at the time. I'm not trying to be mean to the owner of that site by trying to stop people visiting it. You can go if you want. I'm just warning you, it MAY be infected.
IF YOU RECEIVE ANY E-MAILS FROM KARORASHINES @ HOTMAIL . COM, DELETE THEM! BattyKatty13 @ aol . com is fine, but NOT my Hotmail account. The e-mails could be infected.

Link Of The Day:Go read?
On poetry, catgirls and layouts.

This will be a very short entry, because I don't know what to say.
The link up there is to my FictionPress.net profile. FictionPress, or FP, for those of you who don't know, is a website where authors can share their original poems, stories, essays, and so on. Mine contains about 19 poems, and a single essay on my imaginary friends. (By the way, it's classed as 'Humor' because the subject matter is humorous, not because the writing itself is.)
FictionPress.net is also where you'll find LP Rock Queen's poetry. Go read. I've plugged it once before, and i'm plugging it again. :) Want a sample?

Not too deep, never enough to die The happiest things Now brings me to cry
Blood stained tears Poison in my veins Anger and loathing Is the only thing that remains
As I dig and drag I think of you And why you weren't there To pull me through
When I feel human You take it all away I try to hold on to a part of something I was But I sit and watch it decay.
As I feel it burn in me The demon rears its head I am lost once again Into the darkness. My only friend.

Okay, so her stuff doesn't always scan too well. (I've saved all her poems on my computer - the ngone back and edited them so they scan. It's a minor thing, but it bugs me.) It's ace all the same.
Ever come across the Wilde Home for Wayward Catgirls? No? Go! Now! It's amazing. She has such beautiful drawings of catgirls. There's only one thing that bugs me - most of them don't have fingernails. I mean, claws are a vital part of a cat's anatomy! So where are the freakin' fingernails gone?
My favourite is Allison. :) Margaret is pretty wicked too though.
I need an idea for the next layout, people. This one is kinda growning on me... the first time I saw it, it was waaaay too JPEG-fied. I think it may have just been my monitor. It doesn't look too bad right now.
It's also black and white, which is a deliberately un-rainbowy colour scheme. :)
By the way, the reason I mentioned Michael Jackson in the title is because I love the song 'Black or White' - which is where the layout name comes from.
Frick, I have art now. I was supposed to go up at lunchtime to finish off my project but I "forgot"... heheheheheh...
Gotta go, registration.
P.S. I'm gonna create smilie images, so there'll be no more :) :( :P okay? Yay!

Link Of The Day:That ultra-sappy fic I told you about yesterday
On wishes, honesty and friendship.

Friday Five today.

1. What's one thing you've always wanted to do, but never have?
Oh, there are hundreds of things... I think, learn an instrument. I want SO badly to learn percussion, but my parents won't pay for me to have lessons and not only would my mum go mad if my Dad set up a drum kit in the extension, I don't think I could cope with it. Familiarity breeding contempt. That is a great bane of my life, not being able to play an instrument.
2. When someone asks your opinion about a new haircut/outfit/etc, are you always honest?
Hmmm...in a roundabout sorta way. I mean, I don't go all "Oh yeah, it's great!" if it's obviously not, but then again I don't say "Oh my God, you look so fat and hideous in that!". I'm more kinda "Yeah, that's really cool. But the frills make your chest look huge" or whatever the problem is.
3. Have you ever found out something about a friend and then wished you hadn't? What happened?
Um, yeah, but the person in question doesn't know that I know (I found out through someone else who thought they really ought to tell me), so I can't really say anything here - walls have ears...
4. If you could live in any fictional world (from a book/movie/game/etc.) which would it be and why?
Oh, easy. It'd be the world my "imaginary friends" live in. (I'm not a total nutcase, really. They're a couple of characters from a story I wrote, who I gave lives, families, friends and bank balances.) Having just slightly modified their personalities so that they have flaws as well (which makes them oh-so-much-more fun), I'd really like to see them act by themselves, instead of me deciding how they should act...hmmm.
5. What's one talent/skill you don't have but always wanted?
See the question 1. :) Well, and singing. I've always wanted to be able to sing. Unfortunately, I'm utterly tone deaf. Screwball.

Oh yeah, and I made 2 buttons to link to Rainbow Kitty with! They're down there -points down below the text area-. Have fun, guys! Just copy and paste the text in the box below your chosen button. When visitors to your page click on the button, it'll open in a new window, so they can surf both sites at the same time.

Link Of The Day:[Oxygen] - a Taito mailing list
On ickies, obsessions and innuendo.

First up, apologies for not posting sooner.
I'm on a Taito kick right now. Taito? I hear you ask. Simple: Taichi x Yamato. That's Matt and Tai from Digimon, for the unintiated of you out there. Sooooooo obviously gay. I mean, just look at the promotional pictures. Even the freakin' producers are in on it!
I occasionally go through phases where I only want to read Taito fluff, or angst, or smut, or where I'll read any Taito fic, or where I'll read angst/fluff/smut from ANY pairing/TV show. I'm on a Taito songfic search right now. On my travels I stumbled across a Savage Garden one... EW! It was SO corny it's unbelievable. I'll find the link for tomorrow.
Curious to see what all the fuss is about? The link of the day is a Taito site. Go see, I have an entire folder of pics from there. WARNING! Do not enter if gay/slash ickyness offends you! There's a minorly icky picture on the splash page.
I have many, manby obsessions. Taito is one - a fairly constant one. My current fad is learning Japanese. I have succeeded in learning 16 hiragana in the last 24 hours, plus the handful of vocabulary I knew before and some pronunciation tips. However, I left my Japanese book in my locker -blushes- so I'm a little screwed. Ah well, c'est la vie.
It was drawn to my attention - yet again - today that I have a VERY quick mind when it comes to picking up innuendo. I must be the queen of taking things out of context. Example: My mother, describing traffic - "There was this huge thing jammed up my arse!" o.O
There's also a section in the 3rd section of the Lord of the Rings books, saying something about Sam discovering Frodo's naked body. While everyone else was sniggering over Sam clutching Frodo to his breast, I was in hysterics over Sam's cry of "I've come, master! I've really come!" LMAO.
My English teacher also complained that he didn't like the postcard of Jennifer Lopez (not that he actually knows who she is) on his desk because "It's very distracting, having all these beautiful girls on my desk!". Funny as it is, it was even more disgusting when I pointed out the two possible interpretations of 'having'. Ew.
I have to go now, dinner...

Link Of The Day:Flutterby...Niffler's blog
On Marilyn Manson, plugging and Buffy.

Okay, I have to be careful here, because otherwise I'll go off on a rave. Yes, for once I'm actually RAVING about something, instead of ranting about it. Could this be?
I'm not exactly a huge fan of Marilyn Manson. : I mean yeah, Tainted Love was great, fair dosies, but the rest of his songs creep me out somewhat.
Well, I was flicking through the music channels late at night (as I am apt to do), and I happened across Marilyn Manson live in concert. Since they were playing (M)obscene at the time, and the only other thing on was "VH1 Top 100 Floorfillers" (they were playing Diana Ross -shudders-) I decided "What the hell, no-ones around and I wanna sing along!"
Well, while the song isn't exactly deep and meaningful, you gotta hand it to the guy, he's one hell of a performer... not to mention fucking stupid to wear that outfit. What the hell was that, anyway?! But...whoa. Seriously, though, they should have sacked that dancer... You know the bit in the middle of the song, where the two girls go "Be obscene, be, be obscene"? She was so out of time with her dancing it was unbelievable. And not just with the music, with the other dancer as well. Probably not helped by the fact she'd lost her headset. But still... do you have no sense of rhythm, girl?!
There was a mini-interview with him afterwards, which I also found quite cool. I mean, with most performers today - Bovril Latrine-I mean Avril Lavigne, Eminem, almost all hip-hop stars...in fact, virtually everyone - you get the whole stage persona thing. I don't know if Avril Lavigne is really as dumb and vapid as she appears in interviews, but that whole "Yeah, it was sooooo totally wicked!" thing really grates. People act like their image too much. Whereas Marilyn Manson actually manages -shock horror- to talk like a NORMAL PERSON.
I forget what he was talking about, cold cuts and air conditioning or something. But he was so normal, it blew my mind. :)
See what I mean? I've gone raving. Argh. New topic.
I'm gonna majorly plug Niffler's blog here, because the layout rocks... PlugPlugPlugPlugPlugPlugPlugPlugPlug.
I went on a Buffy bender this weekend... I watched the first 8 episodes of Season 1 back-to-back last night, and got up at 7:30 to watch the last 4 this morning. Man, am I dumb. -shakes head- It was worth it though. although I gotta wonder... how many times can Giles get thrown across the room in one season?
Freaking hell, how can I write almost an entire entry on Marilyn Manson?!?!?!
Okay, I'm gonna go now...I'll find something betetr to talk about tomorrow, I promise...

Link Of The Day:Echoica...couldn't find a better link...sorry, guys, but I have a great one lined up for tomorrow. XD
On footballers, breakfast and Section 28.

Did you guys hear what happened to that footballer in the news this morning? Halfway through a match - I forget who was playing, Columbia and some other team beginning with C, Cameroon or something like that - one of the footballers collapsed. Despite 45 minutes of resucitation, he later died from a heart attack.
Now there's a sobering thought. Footballers are, in a sense, professional athletes. They are EXTREMELY fit. They're not overweight, they exercise regularly, and they (generally) don't eat McDonalds every night. So if one of them can die from a heart attack, what hope do the rest of us lazy slobs have?
It's like that advert on the TV, with all the funny little white line drawings on a black background. Virility, wrinkles, losing sight, cholesterol, and losing hair. "Turns out the thing we worry least about is the most dangerous of all", or something. Then you see the cholesterol drawing fall to the floar, groaning and clutching its chest. It's a great advert, very cute.
Having just talked about cholesterol and heart attacks, I'm almost ashamed to admit what I had for breakfast. : A Scotch pancake (one of those thick ones, almost like flattened cakes), with halved red grapes on top, and drizzled over with chocolate sauce. It sounds foul, I know, but it was GORGEOUS.
And it prompted a discussion on the way to school, about what could possibly be worse to eat. We came up with the most bizarre things... Mars Bangers was one of them. Just melt some Mars Bars, chop up some sausages, and add them to the melted Mars bars. Leave to set, then eat with gravy and/or tomato ketchup. It wouldn't sound out of place in a Nigella Lawson cookbook.
Now for my mini-rant on Section 28. Section 28, for the uninitiated of you out there, is the law declaring that you can't promote homosexuality in schools. This means, in our all-girls school, that we shouldn't wear t-shirts saying "Babe" or "Sexy". It means that we can't hug in the lunch queue. It means that, when doing a debate in English class, we can't choose the motion "This house belives that gay couples should be allowed to adopt children".
WHAT?! Sorry, but this is going WAY too far. For one thing, what the hell is wrong with homosexuality? There's no problem with us studying poems on the theme of love, -as long as it's straight-, but the second the teacher mentions a debate on homosexuality it's "No! You can't do that! You might make the girls think homosexuality is okay!"
What is the big deal with homosexuality? (At this point, I wish to point out that I myself am heterosexual, but years of reading Taito fanfics have taught me that there's nowt wrong with gay guys.) And if any of the girls in the school -do- become lesbians or bisexual, what's wrong with that? It's their life, it's their choice. It's unlikely that hugging their best friend in the lunch queue or listening to a speech on gay couples adopting kids will make them decide, there and then, to become gay. It may influence them, but it won't be the sole deciding factor.
So that's my little speech over and done with, I'll get off my soapbox now. Not for long, mind: I have another speech lined up for tomorrow. And one for the day after that. Hell, I have an entire year's worth of rants lined up. Don't worry, they're not all entirely serious.
Oh, yeah, and I wish to amend an earlier comment: in one of my entries, I stated that "Dave-san likes sex. A lot. Seriously, it's all she ever talks about." I was exaggerating slightly. She does sometimes talk about other stuff... just not in as much detail.
Well, that's me done...

On flags, memories and explanations.

Hey, guys, take a look at this. Stare at the bottom right-hand corner of the orange box for thirty seconds (try not to blink or go out of focus). Then look quickly across to the blank white space to the right. Keep focusing there for a few seconds, and the American flag will appear it all its red and blue glory...
For all you Brits out there screaming about the unfairness of it all, it works for the UK too. Take a look.
I'm not sure quite how it works, I found an explanation somewhere but I can't remember it. Kinda cool though, isn't it?
A Monday Memory today, just to reminisce a little.

Did you ever have swimming lessons? How did you learn to swim.. what do you remember about that? If you can't swim, why not?
Yeah, I had swimming lessons when I was about 4. Up until then, I was terrified of water. But once I started lessons, you couldn't get me out of the pool. :) I still love it.
I learnt to swim with some guy whose name I an't remember...we'll call him Jay. One of the things I remember was floating. We had to float, either face-down or on our backs, and I chose to go on my back because I was scared of getting my face wet. Then Jay said "Now try the other way up."
I really didn't want to do it - I was scared I was gonna drown or something - but I did it anyway, just to see what it was like. It was actually quite fun! Then we tried mushroom floats, and I liked that better because you get that cool rocking feeling. :)
The other thing I remember was some boy in the group called Callum, and I thought his name was weird. Lol.

Now for the explanation. Of what? I hear you ask. Well, somewhere in my archives (look for the link at the top of the page) is an entry saying something about Grade 8 Distinction, which caused my friend to become decidedly narked. Her main argument was something like "So, Grade 8 Merit is still beginner's stuff?" What I meant by that entry was that you have to be very, very good in order to play really beautiful music. Beethoven's Moonlite Sonata: Bruce Hornsby's 'That's Just The Way It Is'. (Seriously, listen before you laugh. It's a wonderful piece of music, one of the best.)
This is my diary, and as such reflects what Ithink. If there was such a way, I would have all the knowledge of a Grade 8 Distinction pianist installed into my head so that I could play beautiful music without the tedium of having to learn how to play first. Ditto playing percussion: much as I wanna learn it, I don't think I could cope with my father teaching me. Familiarity breeds contempt, and all that.
So, that's my little explanation. I'm gonna go now, guys. Speak to ya later,

Link Of The Day:The Friday Five (or Any-day-other-than-Friday Five, in my case.)
On sunblock, quizzes and Christopher Hart.

Argh, the pain, the pain! Not only did I manage to pull a muscle in my neck on Saturday (I'm not sure whether it was scrubbing the patio, volleyball, or tennis that did it, but it was one of them), but I'm also sunburnt all down my right side. Why my right? Because I was sitting on the doorstep so that only my right side was exposed to the freaking sun. Now I don't even match. I look like a bloody deckchair.
Lol, it could be worse...I knew someone who fell asleep outside, in the sunshine, with their glasses on... ever burnt ants with a magnifying glass? It was kinda like that. Heheheheh.
I spent most of last night taking online quizzes for my "imaginary friends" (they're just two characters with whole histories, families, memories, personalities, allergies, and anything else ending with -ies you can thing of), Karrie and Yashi. It started of when one of my online friends asked me if I was taking any health questionnaires for them. Then he mentioned how comical it would be if I took a pregnancy test for Yashi (the guy). WeLlllll...
Yashi, you will be pleased to know, is not pregnant. He will die on June 16th 2033, aged 58 (go figure), has a stress level of 28% (which is horrifically inaccurate) and is an "Accountant" personality type. He is also male. More worryingly, so is Karrie.
I went to pick up a book from the library last night, and was promptly very, very inspired. The book? "Kids Draw Anime", by Christopher Hart. I worship this guy. He single-handedly taught me how to draw. "Kids Draw Anime", as well as showing you the correct anime proportions, how to draw the eyes, costumes and sound effects, also has many great points about figure drawing in general.
I find this in a lot of anime books. The tips on drawing hands and feet, for instance, are immensely useful in all drawing styles. I've never been any good at figure drawing; could never get the anatomy right, they always looked deformed. Well, after reading this book, they still looked deformed, but hey, at least they're deformed with pretty eyes now.
Apparently you can tell a lot about someone by looking at the music collection. Well, what does this say about me: 6 songs from musicals, 2 by Garth Brooks, 2 by Metallica, a Backstreet Boys one, and 12 by Weird Al Yankovich.
You know what? I worry about my sanity...
...WHAT IF IT COMES BACK?!?!?!

Link Of The Day:Anorexic Andrea's blog...I found this on a random search.
On the KKK, schooltime and blogs.

Okay, guys, 2 entries today: this one now, and the one about sunburn when I get home. (Yeah, I forgot the disk again.)
I'm going to open this entry with a Friday Five (I make a point of doing these on any day -other- than Friday...)

What is your favourite subject in school? Why?
Um, ICT, because my teacher is rubbish and doesn't care what we do. Hence I'm free to doss around online,
2. Who was your favourite teacher? Why?
Mr. Bramley, for the reason mentioned above.
3. What is your favourite memory of school?
Oooooooh, too many... probably playing "War" in Year 6. Oh, such fun...
4. What was your favourite recess game?
War, in primary school. We had the 2 Chrises, Chris Willshire and Chris Mousley, fighting each other, each with their own team...I was Chris W's medical officer. :)
5. What did you hate most about school?
Giving presentations. I've never been much good at making it interesting, and I'm always too afraid of looking like a moron to do anything original. (Save talking about marshmallows and jumping up and down while talking about sleep in English...)

I'm pissed off with RM SafetyNet (the school's filtering policy). I'm supposed to be researching for an RS project, but (surprise, surprise), I can't get on the KKK website. And when I put 'KKK' into google, the only unfiltered website that comes up is...
...
"Kooky Kid's Korner!"
Fun...
I can't get onto blurty.com either, which is majorly hacking me off, since I want to go read Anorexic Andrea's journal (that's it on the LOTD above).
Okay, I've blathered on for long enough now, I'll go and leave you guys in peace...for the next 3 hours, at least...-cackles insanely-

Link Of The Day:Capital Of Nasty - a webzine
On forgetfulness, computers and Harry Potter.

Argh...I wrote an entire entry last nght, coplete with formatting - AND I created a new layout, coded it an' everything... then what do I do? I leave the freakin' disk in the computer. -smacks forehead- So you guys will have to wait until tomorrow for my ultra-great dose of dry humour - on the subject of Christpher Hart and sunburn, nonetheless.
A group of people behind me are reviewing guys on HotOrNot.com. Their hysterical shrieks of laughter are REALLY starting to grate. Bah humbug.
Do you know how long it took me to write that entry I mentioned last night? 25 minutes! Becuase my idiotic computer crashed TWICE in the process. Come on, I mean, it's not like writing ad saving a Notepad file requires a great deal of effort, is it?!
I tried to wash my hair last night...but I hurt my neck playing volleyball/tennis/scrubbing the patio over the weekend, and can't bend my head far enough over the edge of the bath... -sweatdrops-
Harry Potter 5 came out on Saturday (as I'm sure you know, if you haven't been hiding in a hole for the last century). I got it at 7:00am...have I read it? No. Am I gonna read it? No.
Alright, alright, stem the riot. For one thing, Alexis already completely ruined it for me by telling me all the spoilers up untl chapter 24. For another, it's waaaaay too long. And, like the fourth, it takes years to actually get into the story.
For yet another thing...I don't like Harry Potter all that much. -collective gasps- Don't call the men in white coats yet, let me finish. It's one of those angsty-teen books beneath it all... teenage boy dealing with friends, school, and love. Despite his all-too-frequent fits of bravery, we are informed that beneath it all he is a normal boy, with insecurities and worries. Pass the sick bucket...
I read an interesting article on Capital Of Nasty (http://www.con.ca), but I'll leave that until the day after tomorrow - I have to go photocopy my best friend's Latin work because I lost my own notes. Yeah, okay, don't start the lecture. I suck at organisation. Admit it, you love me for it. ^_~
See you guys tomorrow - I know you can't wait for that article on sunburn...

Link Of The Day:Wanna see the archives???
On Buffy, sequels and FWS.

The Right Honourable Dave-san, being the persuasive sort she is, managed to coerce me last Monday into writing her a Buffy fanfic. Being in mind, of course, that I don't watch Buffy...but ah well.
During the course of this lesson, that 1 fanfic generated a prequel, to explain what the hell was going on. It later spawned a sequel, just to add in an orgy. (Dave-san likes sex. A lot. Seriously, it's all she ever talks about...)
Well, over the course of the next week, this singular fanfic somehow turned into an entire series - prequel, story, and three sequels. Dave-san has just added a fourth sequel, bringing the total story count to six, and is thinking up the plotlines for the seventh and eighth fics as we (or I) speak. We're aiming for a hundred.
I say "we". This whole thing is the brainchild of Dave-san. She's writing the plot lines down on any spare scrap of papre she lay her grubby little mitts on, and leaving it to me to form that into coherent sentences. In return, I get to write myself into it. (Well, I get to walk majestically into the sunset at the end of each chapter. It's our little gimmick.) We're kinda running out of pairings, though, to the extent that we may actually have to get Karora involved in the sex -shudder-.
Which brings me to my latest discovery, FWS: Fic Writer's Syndrome. This is an umbrella term, covering many health ailments commonly afflicting writers - from RSI to sleep deprivation, caffeine poisoning to migraines.
Holy sheet, have I really written all this in the last 7 minutes? Wow.
Sorry, back to the point. Does anyone reading this suffer from FWS? I'd be interested to hear from you. It's BattyKatty13@aol.com, dudes.
Here's a Friday 5, by the way. Yeah, yeah, I know it's Monday. I like to be different. :P
1. Is your hair naturally curly, wavy, or straight? Long or short?
Naturally wavy. It's kinda mid-length at the moment...just below my shoulders. I'm trying to grow it long.
2. How has your hair changed over your lifetime? It's been dyed blue, pink, and purple; it's been grown waist-length,it's been cut chin-length. It's been straightened, curled, de-frizzed, thinned, layered, crimped and blow-dried. I've done a lot to my hair, poor thing.
3. How do your normally wear your hair? Wavy, de-frizzed, tied back in a ponytail or a half-ponytail (the top section tied back, the rest loose...damned Pitas, doesn't have a spell-checker...).
4. If you could change your hair this minute, what would it look like? Longer (almost to my waist), darker red, curly, shiny, and NOT FRIZZY! Or: pink, layered, with the layers flicking out. XD
5. Ever had a hair disaster? What happened?
Yeah, when I crimped it all over...it went majorly fuzzy. -.-;;; I now know only to crimp small sections at a time...ick.

Gotta go, folks, fanfics call... XD
